Welcome to our West Coast home!!! Patricia & Ken Schultz are your hosts at Arbour Cottage B & B! We moved from Alberta to Courtenay in October 2009, for a slower pace of life and so Patricia could realize her dream of opening a bed and breakfast.
Our main goals are: the comfort of our guests; ensuring that they feel welcomed and at home; providing outstanding service; and a relaxing, refreshing stay!
Patricia worked in Administration for a number of years, but had wanted a change. They sold their house in Alberta, bought their house in Courtenay and in October 2009, loaded up the U-Haul truck and trailer and moved to the Island. After eight months of hard work renovating, they opened for business in June 2010.
In February 2020, they decided to sell their house and purchase a new build in West Courtenay. On July 21st, they moved into their new home and after much unpacking/reorganizing, they are ready to receive guests.
When not busy socializing with her guests and serving homemade, healthy and scrumptious breakfasts, Patricia enjoys getting together with friends, photography, gardening, knitting and going for walks in the beautiful Valley.
Ken is a retired Red Seal journeyman carpenter. Writing is one of his passions. He is working on completing the series, Songs of Aarda. He also enjoys gardening and has recently taken up oil painting.
